I grew up on the south-west coast of England, where southerlies blew in from the Celtic Sea, carrying the salty air I still love. My family spent countless hours fishing and exploring rock pools. Years later, working as a commercial photographer for the New Zealand seafood industry, I returned to sea, photographing whatever emerged from the deep.

 

My iconic seafood imagery has been around for over 25 years. I now create fine art from high-resolution files, capturing fish at the moment they are caught to preserve colour and detail. I hope you enjoy this celebration of the beauty of fish.

L.C. Scott Limited was founded in 1954 by Lewis Clive Scott in his Lower Hutt home darkroom. The company grew, moving to Petone in the 1960s. In 1979, Clive’s son, Lewis Robert Scott, joined, expanding portrait and school photography. After Clive’s retirement in the early 1980s, Lewis became director, growing the team and bringing in his wife Sandie as a portrait photographer in 1992.

 

The company merged with a family-owned printing business, creating a fully in-house photography-to-print process. In 2008, third-generation Brooke Freeman-Butler and Nate Freeman-Butler joined, continuing the family legacy of professional photography and production excellence.

 

I’m Mandi, and I love photographing the camera-shy—the ones who hide or use a child as a shield. Models are predictable, but shy clients challenge me, and it’s incredibly satisfying when they struggle to narrow down their top 20 shots.

 

I was a women’s health nurse consultant for 15 years before photographing women for the past decade. My goal is to start a “Mojolution”—a revolution of feminine mojo.

 

My partner Craig joined the business, handling everything I don’t like and expertly enhancing images in post-production, ensuring you look even more amazing than the original capture.
